CISPA, the supposed cyber-security, bill is back before the US Congress but as many warned when it first reared it’s head last year, it will do little to prevent cyber attacks but it will give a back door route for companies to share personal information with the government.
The bill takes a scalpel to current privacy laws and gives companies legal immunity when sharing your information.
CISPA allows government agencies and companies to obtain and share “cyber threat information” if a company thinks that a user is trying to harm its network but that definition is very broad and vague.
